Profiles & Scheduling
We use Fairly to connect dental clinics with temporary dental professionals. Temporary roles currently described for our platform include:
- Registered Dental Hygienists
- Dental Assistants
- Dental Receptionists and Administrators
- Sterilization Technicians
Clinicians use our mobile app to complete onboarding, browse shifts, apply for work, and manage their temporary work activity.
Clinician profiles
When you apply as a temp, provide a professional bio and your work history. Your profile information helps clinics understand your background before selecting an applicant.
Clinics can:
- Review applicants
- Compare candidates
- Choose the professional they prefer for a posted shift
Clinic-facing profile examples show a clinician name, role, shift history, rating, and a specialty such as Local Anesthesia, along with an option to view the full profile.
We have not documented the complete list of profile fields in the available public materials. The materials also do not specify whether clinicians can add multiple specialties, procedure-specific experience, a personal biography visible to clinics, languages, equipment experience, or recurring availability.
If the app requests these details, add them to your profile. If you need confirmation about what clinics can see, contact us.
Experience, licenses, and certifications
Your onboarding includes submitting identity information and, where applicable, professional licensing information.
A temp must complete verification before viewing and applying for shifts.
The verification process includes:
- Submission of a valid practice permit
- Regulatory-body checks to confirm license authenticity
- Identity verification using official documents and liveness checks
- Screening for fraudulent identification
Profile completion also includes securely uploading identity and banking information for verification and payment setup.
Banking information belongs to payments and should be kept separate from your public-facing professional profile.
The public information currently available does not provide a complete list of accepted certifications, expiry-date fields, specialty credentials, or how certification documents appear to clinics.
See our separate Vetting & Onboarding and Billing & Payments information for those topics.
Availability and shift scheduling
You control your schedule by browsing flexible dental jobs and applying only for shifts that fit your availability. There are no stated long-term commitments or minimum hours.
The app can notify you when a nearby clinic posts a shift matching your criteria, so keep your role, location, timing, and other matching preferences current in the app.
Clinics post the date, time, role, and basic clinic information for the coverage they need. Interested temps receive a notification and can apply; the clinic then selects an applicant.
Shift examples include defined start and end times, such as 8:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Public information does not confirm whether the app supports a full calendar view, recurring availability, blocked-out dates, preferred working hours, minimum shift length, or automatic acceptance rules.
To manage your schedule, use the Fairly temp app to review available shifts, check the shift details, and apply to the dates and times you can work.

Location preferences and travel
Shifts are presented by city and based on nearby opportunities that match your criteria.
Fairly operates across Canada, with its deepest network in Edmonton and growing coverage in Calgary.
The platform displays distance information for some shift matches—for example, a nearby opening may be shown with a distance such as 5 km.
The available public information does not state:
- The exact travel-radius controls
- Whether distance is measured from your home address or another location
- Whether you can select multiple cities
Confirm your preferred cities and travel distance in your app profile before applying.
Clinics should include accurate location information when posting a shift so applicants can assess travel requirements.
Profile and schedule checklist
- Complete your bio and work history.
- Select the professional role or roles you are qualified to perform.
- Complete identity and practice-permit verification before expecting to view or apply for shifts.
- Add banking information only through the secure onboarding and payments workflow.
- Review nearby shift alerts and apply only when the date, time, role, rate, and travel distance work for you.
- Keep your availability and location preferences current so the shift-matching notifications remain relevant.
For clinics: posting shifts and selecting applicants
For clinic-side staffing, clinics can create an account, post a shift, review applicants and their track records, and choose a professional.
